Transmission Problems - 8 Warning Signs

You may be reading this article because you conjecture that something is amiss with the automatic transmission in your car. Often times, habitancy experience what they feel may be a transmission concern but are unsure. Take my advice; it is far better to address these problems early on than to let them evolve into a catastrophic transmission failure.

Because the automatic transmission is the most complex piece of machinery in your entire vehicle, by no means can a list of warning signs be all-inclusive. With that said, here are the 8 most common problems that have been observed by transmission mend specialists over the years. These are the early warning signs that you want to look out for:

New Vegas Map

1) Leakage. That small pool of pinkish oil that you see when you move your vehicle from its parking spot in the morning is a sign of trouble. Transmissions can leak from nearly 20 dissimilar external seals- some are very easy to repair, while others require more complex service procedures. In any case, the idea is to have the vehicle looked at right away by a qualified transmission mend shop because, much like an machine that gets low on oil, a transmission that is low on fluid can fail thoroughly in very short order.

2) Shaking. Sometimes a shaking or bucking sensation is experienced, especially at highway speeds. While this may be an issue of poor machine tune, it could also be a malfunction in the transmission. Take it to an scholar that can tell the inequity and diagnose it for you.

3) Delayed drive or reverse. A noticeably longer than normal hesitation for your transmission to engage a gear once the shifter is put in "D" or "R" is other sign of a transmission malfunction. These delays can be caused by anyone from a low fluid level or a band that is in need of adjustment to an internal transmission seal or clutch pack that is failing. Again, sooner rather than later is the right time to get it checked out.

4) A neutral health on brisk acceleration from a stop or when going colse to a turn. This is a classic sign of a low fluid condition. Remember, unlike an machine where it may be normal for some oil to be consumed over time, if a transmission is low on fluid it is leaking.

5) Burning smell. A burnt odor can be a sign of a transmission that is overheating or is leaking fluid onto the exhaust. This needs to be addressed immediately- if machine oil or transmission fluid drips onto a hot exhaust it could catch on fire.

6) Check machine light. Today's transmissions are computer controlled and a check machine light can be an indication of a trans problem, even if you don't have a drivability symptom yet. Contemporary automobile computers are very sensitive and can detect a transmission slip or malfunction that would be indiscernible to the driver. The light comes on to tell you that something is wrong somewhere- listen to it and get your car checked out!

7) Transmission Slipping. Slipping is a health where the machine is revving but full power is not getting to the wheels. Slipping can be caused by a collection of transmission malfunctions- none of which should be ignored.

8) Harsh shifting and wrong gear starts. A hard shift or wrong gear start whether by itself or in conjunction with a check machine light may be a sign that your transmission is in a computer commanded "failsafe" or "limp home" mode. This can be triggered by your vehicle's computer when it detects a transmission fault. The conjecture for this computer strategy is to let the driver know that there is a qoute and to help protect the transmission from supplementary damage while it is "limped" to a shop to be repaired.

While we often fall into the trap of hoping that problems with our vehicles will somehow go away or fix themselves, rarely does it work out that way. Paying attention to and addressing your vehicle's small problems before they turn into larger ones can often help you to avoid costly transmission repairs.

The very doubtful liability case has little, if any, community value. If that's the situation you should secure the services of the local Legal Beagle who does a good job at that, Attorney I.M. Greedy. But, if you do, be very specific when you sign Greedy's "Contingency Fee Agreement". Read it closely. Don't sign anyone that will let him payment you one penny, other than his general fee. Do not - - in any way whatsoever - - allow him to chisel any money from you, for his out-of-pocket expenses. All Greedy should be compensated for (if he's victorious at busting loose some bucks from Rock Solid) is his fee and that should be no more than the usual locally published proper ration of the total recovery.

Type Of Injury: If there are severe injuries (which make up only ten to fifteen percent of all motor vehicle accidents) you should secure the services of a lawyer. But, if you've had minor injuries like whiplash, bumps, bruises, sprains and/or strains (and it's clear you're not at fault) you can deal with and rule the claim yourself.

Type Of someone You Are: Rate yourself and be brutally honest. You're most likely an median motor vehicle owner/driver, living a general life. But, if you've spent some time behind bars, have a criminal record, or a history of character defects that often get your butt in a jam with the local cops (and this is well-known) you must take those facts into notice when forming expectations concerning what your case is worth.

The Type Of someone Fred Fuddle Is: The great Fred Fuddle looks, or the great the "entity" "(Fuddle's firm or company, etc.) appears, the great for Rock Solid. But, if Fuddle is a known bookie or drug dealer, they're in deep "stuff". On the other hand, if Fuddle is a well-loved philanthropist, that can be a plus for Rock Solid Insurance. Or if the vehicle that struck you was a van driven by Pastor Frederick Fuddle, and the named insured is The Fuddle Camp For Lost Souls, that can be a plus for Rock Solid.

But, if the "entity" that hit you was a dilapidated junk pile on wheels operated by Fred "Goof-Ball" Fuddle, and the named insured is The Fuddle Rotted Cow Manure Corporation, that will obviously not be favorable for Rock Solid.

Damages: There are "Medical extra Damage" Expenses, "Non-Medical extra Damages" Expenses, and/or your "Property Damage" Expenses.

Medical extra Damage Expenses: These typically comprise Cost of Ambulance, emergency Room, Hospital and/or Clinic Charges, Chiropractor, and/or Dentist, Over-The-Counter Drugs and/or prescription Medications, Laboratory Fees and Services, Diagnostic Tests: X-Rays and (Ct) Scan, Prosthetic Appliances or Surgical Apparatus, (Cranes & Crutches), bodily Therapy, Registered and/or Practical Nurse Fees, Ace Bandages, Gauze and Tape, Heating Pads, Creams, Lotions, Ointments, Balms and Salves.

When it comes to listing your healing extra Damage "expenses" don't overlook one single dollar because, when it comes time to rule your claim, that dollar can increase the value of your payment for "Pain and Suffering" by a multiplier of four or even five! (Yes, that means a .00 bill can be worth .00 to 0.00 more ,in your pocket, from Rock Solid Insurance, at community time).

Non-Medical extra Damages: These typically comprise Lost Wages and Earnings, Lost Vacation time and/or Sick Leave, travel Expenses (car rentals, group transportation, expenses incurred getting to and from your Chiropractor and/or hospital and/or bodily therapy "treatment" of some sort) Household Help while disability and/or Child Care. Be sure to secure written proof of such "Non Medical" extra Damages.

Lost Wages: The earnings you lost, because you were unable to work, is an area where adjusters take terrible benefit of the typical claimant because they know so small about it.

Commissions and overtime can make a huge contrast in your lost earnings. Be sure to get a letter from your employer, on their legal letterhead, explaining that in detail. Or, if you're self-employed, get this data stated on your accountants letterhead.

The time you miss from work (thus the money you may have lost) is calculated and this element constitutes what is known as "Lost Wages" or "Lost Time Verification". In most situations you're entitled to payment for lost time and earnings, even if you have no actual loss of money! Such as, for example, when your salary is paid by your firm insurance coverage, or by taking sick leave, or some similar arrangement.

Even if you're salaried you should secure a "Lost Earnings", or "Time Lost Verification", in writing on your employer's letterhead.

If You'Re Self-Employed: To prove your lost earnings you'll probably have to assemble some inside data for Hard-Nose. If you don't like the idea of submitting secret documents to him, in the privacy of your home or office, just think how you'd feel about producing them in the non-private environment of a courtroom. When a case goes to trial, and if you want to prove your damages so as to secure adequate compensation, that's your only alternative.

Two important Areas concerning Lost Wages: Did the injury necessitate a convert of job or employment at a lesser rate? Or, did the injury allow your going to work but only on a part-time basis? If the talk to whether examine is "Yes", it would be wise to ask your owner to document these facts on their letterhead.

It'S Crucial For You To Know: Even if you've been paid while out of work, you can still compute your time lost from work as "Lost Wages" .

Property Damage Expenses: These typically comprise Motor vehicle Repair, Damaged Clothing, Broken Glasses, cost of Substitute Car Rentals, Towing and Storage. Make copies of all bills relating to any of your property damage expenses. Keep the originals. Be sure to have these in your possession when you and Hard-Nose plunk yourselves down to "Talk Turkey". Photocopies are adequate to give him.

Your Age: Because of their obvious innocence, insurance claim emergency victims, up to the age of 12, generally have perfect community results. Those in their teens, and into their late 50's, fall into a fairly general category because they're generally thought about to be at the height of their bodily stamina. Those in their late 60's, and over, regularly fare extremely well; primarily due to the condolence that's often invoked, from a judge or jury, because of general attitudes concerning frailty and the elderly.

Most important To Remember:The data Hard-Nose places into your file plays a major role in the greatest value of your claim. Never underestimate the importance of his impressions and conclusions! Should, one day, your case ends up in front of a judge, or jury, what Hard-Nose feels, observes and then reports into your file at Rock Solid about you, his insured Fred Fuddle, and/or possible witnesses, etc., (in increasing to the data you've documented for him) could have heavy influence on the value of your claim - - especially if Fuddle is a loser and he's well in the wrong. At that point the only thing stalling a community is the whole of money it's going cost to get rid of you.

And, should your file end up in the hands of the local defense attorney for Rock Solid Insurance, all the obvious factors about you, your injury and liability, will cause him to gasp, "Hey, what's going on here? My legal fees will be higher than the few hundred more bucks this one can be dumped for."

The bottom line: Your out-of-pocket expenses correctly recorded and presented, your injury data properly documented and your lost wages clearly established will seriously increase the dollar value of your personal injury claim.

Question: How does Dan know this to be true? Answer: "Because for 38 years Dan was right there, where he saw and done that" !

Country: United States
Map type: City Map for download to an ebook reader.
More information: The eBook with the map contains index of streets (hypertext).

DESCRIPTION
Located in southern Texas, San Antonio is the gateway to the American Southwest, and the cradle of Texas liberty. This beautiful city of over one million still retains a small-town feel, even though it's home to five Texas universities and many high-tech corporations.

San Antonio is one of America’s oldest cities, settled first by missionaries from Spain. No other city in Texas reflects the state’s Mexican heritage better than San Antonio. Famous for the Alamo, River Walk, Sea World, and its Tejano culture, San Antonio is a major tourist attraction.

The City of San Antonio is home to fine art museums, historic Spanish missions, amusement parks, great dining and a vibrant culture. Fiesta Week, a yearly celebration in San Antonio, is all about parades, Tejano food and festive drink in the downtown area and along the River Walk.

FAST FACTS
1. With over 100 different events, the San Antonio Fiesta is the biggest party and greatest community benefit in the big state of Texas.
2. The Schlitterbahn Waterpark, just to the northeast of San Antonio, is rated as the country’s best water park by the Travel Channel.
3. Comedienne Carol Burnett and actress Joan Crawford both hail from San Antonio, Texas.

ATTRACTIONS
A chain of missions established along the San Antonio River in the early 18th century became the largest concentration of Catholic missions in North America. All still stand, and should be visited while in San Antonio.
The Alamo
The Mission San Antonio de Valero, better known as the Alamo, is where Mexico’s General Santa Anna’s army defeated David Crockett, Jim Bowie and 188 others on March the 6th 1863. It is the most famous historical spot in Texas.

Its museum displays fascinating items from the Republic of Texas that document the Alamo’s heroic fall.

Built in 1718 as the city’s first Spanish mission, the chapel is one of the United States’ most photographed buildings.

The Buckhorn Saloon and Museum
The Buckhorn Saloon and Museum keeps the Wild West spirit alive in an unsurpassed way.

The historic and eclectic saloon, built in 1881, is home to a collection of more than 4,000 animal horns along with wild life exhibits. It also boasts a shooting gallery, a wax museum and an arcade.

The Buckhorn museum is actually comprised of five museums in one: Horns, Fins, Feathers, the Hall of Texas History Wax Museum and rotating special exhibits. This amazing San Antonio location has another hidden treasure: the Curio Store, dubbed the "World’s Oddest Store."

The San Antonio River Walk
This wonderland beneath the streets and bridges of downtown San Antonio is an oasis of beauty and peace.

Bordered with stone paths and lush tropical gardens of ferns, cycads, papyrus, nandina and fan palms, the 2.5 mile San Antonio River Walk is lined with first class restaurants and hotels.

Enjoy the sites while strolling or having a cup of coffee at the exquisite umbrella-shaded café tables; the young at heart can spend the weekend nights celebrating at the many lively nightspots scattered around the River Walk.

The long-distance romance suits India just fine: Though Jack is the only man who has ever made India feel truly alive, she doesn’t want things to get too serious. But then her father passes away, and India must honor the promise she made to him: to look after her mother when he’s gone.

Suddenly India finds herself back in Colorado Springs with the woman who both intrigues and infuriates her. True to form, Eldora throws India a curveball, insisting that they hit the road to look for India’s twin, Gypsy, a brilliant artist who lives a vagabond’s existence in the remote mountain towns of New Mexico. It looks like India can’t avoid her mother’s intensity any longer, especially after she discovers stunning secrets from Eldora’s past.

But the story of how she really ended up in Sin City, and the unsavory life she’d run from with her daughters in tow, is full of details she’s never seen fit to share–until now.

As mother and daughter sail down Route 66, the very road Eldora drove those many years ago, looking for Gypsy, while passing motels, diners, and souvenir shops, Eldora must relive a lifetime of memories that have tormented her before she can put them to rest once and for all. . . .
